October 2012

This has been a good month! We have been able to do a lot as a family and enjoy the nice fall weather!

I took Charly to the pumpkin patch in Springville and she had lots of fun playing in all the corn, seeing the animals, and going on a tractor ride.

She has loved playing in all the leaves

We went to the Riverwoods "Pumpkin Parade" It was so much fun. Charly was able to pet the anmials and hold a bunny which she loved. We went on hay ride and charly loved seeing the horses. It was so cold, but we still had a great night as a family.

Unfortunately Gar wasn't here for Halloween, so we had to celebrate without him :(

Charly was the cutest little Minnie Mouse! She wore the same costume I wore when I was her age. She loved going trick or treating down main street, she was completely happy eating he candy and watching everyone around her.
After main street we went to the Tipton house and had the traditional Ham Chowder and Hot Cider and then made our way up to the Caldwells. She had WAY too much candy, but I loved watching her have so much fun with all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins!

even papa tipton dressed up this year!

And here are just some pics of me and my bug! I love her so much!

Happy Birthday Charly dear

October 3rd we celebrated Charly's 2nd birthday! She had a fun day! We went to Kindermusic in the morning and then after her nap Gar took her to Mcdonalds to play while this mama finished getting some things ready for her party!

I had the crazy idea to make a minnie mouse cake for her. She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and all the characters, but pretty sure Minnie is her favorite! Thanks to my sister Laurie for helping me all night, we were able to get the cake done, and we were happy with how it turned out! We spent the night celebrating with family! We are very blessed to live so close to all our family so Charly can share her special day with those who love her!

Also this month we had our annual "Pie Fest" but I failed to take a picture, but it was fun and YUMMY as usual!

We had the BYU black out game, which was sad but still fun to get out with the hubs!

End of summer • Starting fall

We had such a great summer! Charly and I spent a lot of time at 7 peaks with Auntie Anj, Kai and No No's. It was something fun to do to get out of the house and let the kids enjoy the sunshine!

Kai and Charly walking into the park

We went out on Brandon and Michelle's boat a few times. Charly loves going out on the boat. After the last time we went all she kept saying the next few days was "water...boat..?" She is fun to take out.

THE "BINKERS"
About the month ago we decided to take away Charly's "binkers"  as she liked to call it.

We were SO scared and worried about this...we just kept putting it off. But we were actually so glad that we did it when we did because it worked out in our and her benefit because she was a little older and able to understand more of what we were saying to her. So this is what happened- We cut the tip off of her Binky and handed it to her and told her it was broken. She put it in her mouth and then took it out looked at it and said " it broken?" and then threw it to the ground. The UNFORTUNATE part of this is that, by accident she saw Gar cut it and so she just kept saying "Dada cut...Dada cut.." So we felt bad and decided to take her to build a bear to get something to kind of "replace" the Binky...make a negative into a positive kind of thing. She picked the soft cute little bunny. We picked out some Minnie mouse pj's for it and she was just so excited!

We went home that night and we were worried because laying her down was going to be the true test. So we did her normal routine and laid her in her crib with her blankey and the new addition her bunny... and that was that! We didn't hear a peep out of her! We were seriously in complete shock! She handled it like true champ! We honestly felt blessed because we were bracing for the worst! And we were just so proud of her. You know you're a parent when...you feel a sense of accomplishment and that you've actually done something right for once when your child goes to sleep peacefully at night for the fist time in almost 2 years without her Binky... you feel so proud.

BYU FOOTBALL
So the cougs have not been playing that awesome so far to say the least, but never the less Gar and I still love going to the games together. It is something that we have done together since our first year of marriage and something I hope we are able to continue doing every year.

Park City weekend
Anj and I went to Park City for the weekend to just get away, have some fun and celebrate Anj's 24th birthday! Friday we spent the day shopping and then later that night we went and got some yummy Sushi. After dinner we went back to the hotel and got in the hot tub. We stayed up WAY too late talking, but it was worth the girls night out.

Things I missed.... and more recently...

Here are some things that I didn't blog that I wanted to but just skipped over...

Art City Days 2011 we had Charly be in the baby contest. I know this is well over do, but THANK YOU all that went to City hall and voted! I know some went everyday, Thank you so much! It was cool seeing her in the Newspaper. She won Most photogenic. It's crazy to see her in this photo compared to her now.

Last fall we had the opportunity to go to the set in Elberta where they are filming a lot of the church movies. They showed part of the set on the Christmas devotioal movie. It was a really neat experience that my family was able to be apart of.

My dad retired last summer and it was a bitter sweet day I think for all of us. I found myself getting emotional when the fire cheif starting speaking about him and my dad's service on the fire and police department. I have always been so proud to be his daughter and will always look up to him for all he has accomplished and still is accomplishing in his life.

 Baby Haven was born!!!

Now recently-

July 4th
Joey prepared a very yummy lunch for everyone and had a fun water slide for all the kids to play on! It was fun to see everyone and hangout! Thanks Steve and Joey!

Later that night we went to the Tiptons for a fun BBQ!

We went to go visit Gar's sister Steph in Vernal and we had a blast! Thanks again Steph for letting us come visit and taking our pics and sharing your boat!
